Art In Bloom is Underway!
Our signature fundraiser, Art in Bloom, is underway! This morning over 45 creative floral designers are making arrangements to interpret the works of art. Here are two college student designers ..Olivia Erickson(UK) and Madison Koller (EKU). Madison is the daughter of floral designer Marsha Koller who has been designing for Art in Bloom since the very first year. Madison said she used to have to carry her mom's stuff every year, so four years ago she decided to do her own arrangement! It has now become a family affair. Madison says her dad made the frame for this spectacular piece!

High Schoolers Ask Good Questions
Last week a group of high school students from Casey county toured the museum. In these pictures, our docent Stephanie Hillebrand is touring them in the exhibition Art and the Animal and docent Larry Lynch is discussing the horse sculpture by Deborah Butterfield in the permanent collection. (Artworks that we own, and keep for posterity, and try to keep on view as much as possible.)
Larry told me he enjoyed this group because they were art students, and asked good questions!
Our permanent collection has over 4500 artworks, so it is not possible to show them all at once. We try to keep the most significant on view, and rotate more fragile works such as watercolors or photographs.

Fun at Art in Bloom!
Our event planner, Deanna Dillender, always brings some fun event to add to the excitement at Art in Bloom. this year, for the Saturday night cocktail party, guests will be treated to models in fanciful animal-related costumes designed by Mauricio Crane. This is one of the examples!
